Mid-Week Mountain Music is more punk rock than punk rock. The Punk Illuminati haven't officially made me the Grand Pooba of Punk Rock (yet!) so I'm not the final word on the topic but if this doesn't stand for the principles Punk Rock was founded on, nothing does. Have you listened to these old time folk and bluegrass songs? Every song is about being poor, drinking, getting arrested, or sex. The main difference between punk and folk is that more people get murdered in folk songs. The most punk rock thing about Mid-Week Mountain Music was the honesty. The songs are honest, the music is honest, and the people are honest. There's no unspoken dress code. It's there because people love music. Aside from mid-week mountain music, I had a pretty eventful day yesterday. My special lady Jana and I applied and were approved for the apartment we wanted. It's in downtown Waukesha down a narrow street surrounded by small shops. I've always liked the idea of living above something and our new apartment is right above some organization where retired people volunteer. I don't know what it's called or what they volunteer for (medical testing?) but I do know they're only there until 5:00. The best part is that we are right across the street from a Masonic Temple. I was talking about this with Awesome Single Craig and we both spent some time on this World Wide Internet trying to figure out exactly what the fuck is up with the Masons. We read a wide range of theories - Free Masons worship Leviathan, Free Masons worship Baphomet, Free Masons are just a bunch of guys who hang out and dress up, Free Masons secretly control the world, etc, etc. Craig is a smart guy (and single!) and he really displayed his ability to read between the ol' lines yesterday when he very succintly said "If the Free Masons ARE secretly controlling the world you'd think they could track down someone with some web design skills. I mean, Jesus Christ." Jesus Christ, indeed. EVERY web page about the Free Masons looks like it was designed by blind people with Downs Syndrome.
