I got the impression they were just trying to run a news station. I avoided a lot of the media coverage during the war because most of it was crap, and I think calling it crap is generous. It drives me fucking nuts that everything in this shithole society is extremes and the truth gets lost somewhere in the middle. There was a preview for Fahrenheit 9/11 before the movie. As I watched Control Room, I found myself getting more and more disgusted with the concept of Fahrenheit 9/11. To me, it just seems like someone else screaming about how right they are. I know I can't say that with any fairness since I haven't seen the film, but I find Michael Moore to be really funny, interesting, and a total windbag. I think that he does himself a huge disservice with his shenanagins. I don't doubt that he has many valid, interesting, and disturbing points to make. It's just a shame that he can't make them without stupid publicity stunts that make me embarassed for agreeing with him. The scene in Bowling for Columbine where he leaves the picture of the little dead girl at Heston's place was over the line and stupid. It's a valid point but that was a really heavy handed bullshit way of illustrating it. And another thing, Michael Moore, STOP RELATING EVERYTHING TO FLINT, MICHIGAN! I know it's a wonderful archetype for everything in the God Damn universe, but I'm sick of it. I could probably find my way around Flint just from watching Michael Moore films. I'm all for making stupid people look stupid and that's what Michael Moore does best, but there is a line where you're no longer nailing them and just being annoying.
