Muddy Waters was on TV and that lick was playing. That blues guitar riff. Ordinarily I would laugh because it's the fucking blues riff you hear in every blues parody ever, but looking at Muddy Waters up there, sweating in a suit and a shirt with a butterfly collar, and the band going for it with that one lick that wrongly defined a whole genre of music, and I suddenly understood a little better.
