I was watching a "news" program last night about two people who survived a plane crash and walked off some mountain in Montana. The plane went down and three of them survived. They made a lean-to out of plane parts. During the night, one of them died. The next day the other two headed down the mountain.

The dood had a broken back and some nasty burns. I don't remember what happened to the lady. They eventually reached a roadway where they flagged down a motorist. The guy's mom was in a hotel room writing his obituary when she found out he was still alive.

The thing is, the rescue crew didn't find them at crash site so they assumed they died. If you extrapolate that out, you can conclude that they found the wreckage site before the two people walked off the mountain.

The point I'm trying to make is that, if you're ever in a life or death situation like a plane crash in the mountains, just wait around to die. Save yourself the pain and agony of hiking down a mountain with your spine sticking out of your rib-cage or whatever. Just sit in the lean-to, huddle up with any other surviors, and wait around to die. You'll be much happier for it.
