Yesterday was productive and expensive. Jana and I both got our time off approved to visit my parents outside of Spokane, WA. I'll get to see my parents, my grandparents, and several of my other relatives whom I haven't seen in many years. We bought our plane tickets and reserved our rental car, etc etc etc.

We also went to the optomitrist. I have never had an eye exam in my life untill 4:30pm yesterday afternoon. My optomitrist is a great guy based out of Waukesha, just down the street. I approached the whole thing with a sense of wonder and horror. I have a long-standing policy of not putting shit in my eyes and I knew that my eye exam would violate this policy.

My favorite part of the eye exam was when the optomitrist told me to look through the scope at the house or the barn. Sure enough, I looked through the scope and there was a tiny little house on a distant horizon. Above the house there was a gigantic floating eye, which I can safely assume belonged to the optomitrist. It was an interesting effect. As we walked back to the other room, I asked "Can you change the picture in there?" To my chagrin, he said no, optomitrists everywhere are stuck with that little barn or house.

Long story short, I need glasses. Nothing major; I'm not a road hazard without them but I'm looking forward to seeing things a little more clearly.

I'm also still available for any PC support or network administration positions that you may have a lead on.
